How to Use the Universe Tab

The Universe tab shows every stock in the Trading Awareness trading universe — roughly 5,000 common stocks across NYSE, NASDAQ, AMEX, and quality OTC markets — with the latest OHLCV data for each.

Why it matters

The breadth numbers are only meaningful if you know which stocks they are counting. The Universe tab lets you see exactly which tickers are in the active breadth universe and understand why a stock might not appear in the Gainers/Losers or Leaders lists.

Universe composition

All active common stocks (type = CS) across NYSE, NASDAQ, AMEX, OTCQB, and OTCQX — excluding ETFs, warrants, preferred shares, and ADRs. This focuses counts on stocks that real momentum traders actually trade.

OHLCV columns

Each row shows the previous session's Open, High, Low, Close, and Volume — the same data used to compute all breadth metrics. The Close is the key figure: it determines which stocks pass the $3 filter for the next session's breadth counts.

Force-resync button

Triggers a fresh pull of the full ticker list from the data provider. Normally you never need this — the universe syncs automatically on startup. Use it if a recently listed stock is missing from the universe, or if the ticker count seems unexpectedly low. Completes in under a minute.
